Robbery suspect still at large

Published: Friday, December 29, 2006 10:06 PM CST
A male suspect is said to have robbed both a Plano family and two Allen residents Thursday evening, according to reports from both the Plano and Allen Police Departments.

At about 7 p.m. a woman was in the front yard of her home in the 2000 block of Willow when she was confronted by a black male with a silver handgun who forced her back inside her house where the suspect then assaulted the woman’s husband. The suspect demanded money and took and undisclosed amount of money and items with him as he fled in a small white passenger vehicle.

The suspect was described by eyewitnesses as being 6 foot to 6-2 in height, weighing 220-225 pounds, approximately 20-25 years of age with hair braided in “corn rows” wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants with a black handkerchief covering his face, according to information released by the police departments.

About 28 minutes later the same suspect is believed to have followed two residents into their Allen apartment and robbed them at gunpoint. The suspect followed victims, Ryan L. Ramsey and Tan Sin-Er to their apartment in Allen at the Wildwood Apartments in the 1500 block of Jupiter Road. He entered their residence and displayed a silver handgun, demanding money and jewelry from the victims. The suspect then forced Ramsey to chauffeur him in Ramsey’s blue Ford Mustang to several ATM locations in Plano. The final location was the Texaco gas station located in the 2400 block of Plano Parkway, where the suspect fled on foot in a southeast direction, according to the Allen Police Department.

The suspect’s whereabouts are currently unknown. Investigators from both departments are working together to process evidence and eyewitness accounts in order to apprehend the suspect, said Cpl. John Felty a spokesperson for the Allen Police Department.

“I think we will get him. Plano had a very similar incident a half hour before this one so there is a good chance they are related,” Felty said. “So I am pretty confident we will catch him.”

Allen police are seeking any eyewitnesses from the apartment complex in Allen or any of the various locations that the suspect visited to make ATM withdrawals.

“There may be people at the apartment that saw the suspect,” Felty said. “I am hoping there is someone who saw him who can come forward and provide us with more details.”
