E-mail This StoryNewly-elected Councilmember Joey Herald was sworn in as the newest member of the Allen City Council on June 24. Herald won the seat in a runoff election against former council member Richard Buchanan on June 14 following a May 10 special election that also included Ben Ferguson, who had served as president of the Allen Parks and Recreation Board.
The Place 3 seat was made available when Mark Pacheco stepped down to run for mayor. The seat will come up for its regular election again in May 2009.
