Carey Coleman, geriatric care manager/community liaison for Senior Select Home Health Care in McKinney and instructor of the Texercise program in McKinney was one of nine recipients of the DADS Vision Award, presented by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services last week.
The statewide award is presented to individuals or groups for their exemplary volunteer service.
Coleman was one of three honorees in the Wellness category. Other categories were Dignity and Choice. Texercise is a 12-week exercise program for senior citizens.
Coleman conducts several sessions each year at elder care centers, churches and community centers.
