Judy Suan is a new Dallas resident lending a hand to the community one paw at a time with Storytelling workshops to students and teachers, and assemblies through her company, called "Pawsitively Sharing Aloha."

Along with "UB," her Medical Alert/Brace Certified Service Dog, this third-generation storyteller/reading specialist is teaching the benefits of reading aloud with expression to improve reading skills and inspire those around her.

“We also try to educate the public about the important things these trained service dogs can do,” Suan explained. “We can talk about dog awareness in general and offer various programs for children and adults."

“We want them to take off the ‘dis’ and think about everyones ‘ability,’”  “You have to make the best of your life. I work with kids using positive reinforcement/laughter and fun to help them cope with things going on in their lives that they can and can’t control."

They also discuss what each of us can do to make a difference in the world.

Pawsitively Sharing Aloha advocates for those with disabilities or who have other challenges to overcome as well as “Wounded Warriors” returning from serving our country. She shares facts about certified service dogs and registered therapy animals and promotes volunteerism.

A Special Education teacher for 34 years using animal assisted therapy, Suan also has worked as a Reading Education Assistance Dog Team. She is member of International Association of Assistance Dog Partners, as well as Exceptional Women, a Dallas Christian Business Women's Fellowship and Networking organization.
